Ever wondered what to do in life?

During my school life, I never really had an idea of what I wanted to do when I left school, some ideas were:

  • become a surf life saver,
  • become a ballerina for the Australian Ballet
  • and more …

After I left school and entered the job force, I read many books to try and find what career I really wanted to be in. None of these books gave me the answer. I wanted to be shown exactly what I should do!

It wasn’t until my late twenties where I started playing around with characters. I had no idea that I was going to turn it into a story but one thing led to another and out popped a story (actually it didn’t just magically happen, it took a good year to finish it and then another 1-2 years to lose it and rewrite it. And by lost I mean, my computer crashed)(important note – always back-up your work!)

Once I had my first child, I had the courage to publish my novel. Not just publish it, go on a 3 month marketing campaign to promote it. I discovered what I wanted to do as a career in life, write.

Ever since that journey into the unknown, a roller-coaster ride of emotions and experiences, I have never wanted anything more than to turn writing into my career.

I realised there is this big wide world that is ready to be explored and experienced and here I was in a small desk space, bored and feeling like this is all the world could offer me but once I started exploring my true passions in life, the world’s view expanded and grew and instead of feeling limitations placed upon me, I felt free.

It’s important to fight for your freedom and your passions. It’s also important to know that what you have right now, may not be what you want and to know that you can go on a journey, like I did to really discover where your true passions lie.

The great part is, instead of fumbling around in the dark, like I did as I self-taught myself everything about writing, I have online courses for you, which provide easy instructions to get you exactly what you want in life, freedom to do what you love.

  • A ready-to-use Writing Tracking Spreadsheet which gives you a visual tool of how many hours you are actually applying to your freelance writing success.
  • Website links to websites that pay handsomely!
  • A weekly check-in process, where you can email me with all your questions from the weekly program. Not only will I give you the emotional support you may need to keep focussed and keep pushing forward, I will try and answer all your questions. When it comes to freelance writing, there is no one way approach, in turn I will give you multiple options on how to achieve your goals.
  • A five year plan spreadsheet to help you work out your financial goals, which will help you focus on building your goals and keep you motivated to keep writing.
  • A financial income and expenses sheet for tax time.
  • Tools on setting up social media to link your writing content and building your fan base.
  • A simple contact spreadsheet for you to update with who you contacted and when, plus follow-up notes.
  • Plus daily tasks with detailed instructions to get you started in the right direction!

It is recommended that you have dabbled in writing and that you actually enjoy writing and want to learn how to earn money from it. Also, I think it’s necessary that you want your freelance writing career to work. Most of what I am going to tell you, comes with putting in time to achieve your goals. If you cannot give yourself 2-3 hours every day, 5 days a week towards this program, then this program is not for you. 2-3 hours may seem like a lot, however you can break it up by spending an hour in the morning, during the day and in the evening. Once you start the above process, you will be on the way to building your income as a freelance writer.

What you need to be prepared for

This is an intensive program. You need to allow 2-3 hours every day to work on it for four weeks.

The result

If you are seeking a quick way to make cash, don’t do this program. This program is designed to continually build up the amount you are earning as a freelance writer and the more time you spend writing the more you get paid. You have to put in the effort to get the result. What you will receive is a strong foundation through resources and information. Plus, by doing daily activities, you will get into a habit that offers you steps on how to start your freelance writing career.

During this program I will be sharing with you all my secrets that I have learned over the years that work in gathering new business and having work each week to bring in an income. In addition to all the tools and resources I am giving you as part of the program, plus your chance to start writing immediately and earning an income. How much would you expect to pay?

When you confirm that you want to enter this program and you are 100% committed to this intensive program. Payment will be AUD $499, payable before the program start date. Now if you can earn this money back through your freelance writing by using my tools and your hard work to make it happen, plus make an actual income from it, if you stick to it over twelve months, then this payment will seem like a small investment that helped you grow your career. Plus, you can add this as an expense when you do your end of year tax.

What you will get

Once enrolled, from the start date of your program, you will receive a weekly email with your weekly plan. Your weekly plan will include:

  1. A source that obtains information on how to build your freelance writing
  2. Your daily tasks for the week with instructions on how to complete it
  3. Your writing tracking spreadsheet
  4. Your communication form which can be completed as you go to send at the end of the week

Blocked – the money challenge

Lately I have felt like I have hit a bit of a road block. I guess when you are on the path to making your own money as a freelance writer and author, money is sourced from a variety of work. I know my targets and I know how many hours I work towards but then it dawned on me, it is taking too long to reach a more stablisied regular cashflow and the income is still way too low. As with freelancing work, its paid by the hour and there is only so many hours in the day.

It reminds me of great teachers who have said, don’t work hard for money, let it work hard for you. This is all well and good, and I love how this creates an entirely imaginative and creative sphere where once can ride the wave of ideas and brainstorm to get that one idea that might just pay off.

Let’s face it, I am a creative person, and I am talking here about money. But I am not ashamed, I, just like you, require money to live. It’s a fact of life. I also enjoy the freedom money can provide but do not enjoy when the freedom is restricted due to low cash in the old bank account.

So how does one free themselves from the slave of working for money to live and gain freedom?

Well there are some options

  • Find a career that you love, so working towards a greater goal is worthy of your life.
  • Create your own path, open a business or create a product and pray to God it sells.
  • Or dream hopelessly that your money situation will change without you having to do anything. i.e winning lotto
  • Of course there are lots of options, it is just up to you tothink out of the box to find yours.

So where to from here? Well as you know, I like to leave thoughts in a positive atmosphere…

Here is my thought process …

For ten years I have worked in jobs and careers that I have not fully enjoyed, that have held no passion in my life or want to continue with. (Please note, the people I have met through those jobs are amazing and would never disrespect that).

For ten years I wished for something greater but for 6 of those years I had no idea what that something greater was.

When I started writing my first novel, Entice Me. I worked full time and wrote in all my spare time, including lunch breaks, on the train and late nights. I have worked hard for this.

When I took 12 months of leave from my day job, I spent a lot of time brainstorming ideas on how to work from home.

Where am I now?

I feel like a brick wall lays in front of me, I can’t keep going straight ahead I must find a way round. But I don’t want to go left or right, I want to smash my way through. I read once, that sometimes when something is put in front of us, if we persist we will find true success. So I will take this as a sign that I need to make some changes. I need to get out the drawing board again and think about how I can make my dream career a reality, one filled with the boundless freedom I need to live my life (money included).

If you are travelling through a similar experience, where what may have worked a few months prior has now dried up or you just feel something is missing, then I urge you to really take some time to think about how you can change your path to ensure you get to your desired outcome.

Because as they say, no two destinations are alike. For one person it may be a one way road to success, another through multiple streets, red lights and detours. Never lose sight of the end result. Never give up on your true heart’s calling.

I also believe that when we are unsure where to go, or if opportunities dwindle, then soon more doors open. Good luck my friend, may your door to paradise open to you.
